N. Henry Simpson, Partner

Henry Simpson's practice includes litigation, mediation, and arbitration.  Mr. Simpson represents clients, mediates and sits as an arbitrator in contract disputes, antitrust matters, consumer fraud, business disputes, employment, stockbroker and securities fraud cases.

       Mr. Simpson received his B.A. in 1968 from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Arts in 1969 from the University of Chicago for work in English and American literature.  He completed his J.D. in 1973 at Southern Methodist University.  He has served as an adjunct instructor at Southern Methodist University School of Law.

        Mr. Simpson is a member of the State Bar of Texas Antitrust and Business Litigation Section (Chair, 2000-2001), and the College of the State Bar of Texas.  He is also a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association.  In addition, he serves as chairman of the District 6 Committee on Admissions for the Supreme Court of Texas under the auspices of the State Board of Law Examiners.  He is a member of the American Arbitration Association Panel of Arbitrators, the NASD Panel of Arbitrators, the NASD Panel of Mediators,  the New York Stock Exchange Panel of Arbitrators, and the Association of Attorney-Mediators (Chair, N. Tex. 1998-1999).

       He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits; U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and the Supreme Court of Texas.

       Mr. Simpson speaks regularly at business litigation and dispute resolution programs and has contributed legal articles to the Southwestern Law Journal and other regular professional journals and publications.

 

 Byron L. Woolley, Partner

Byron L. Woolley's practice includes business litigation in state and federal courts with emphasis on litigation in the following substantive areas:  real estate; insurance insolvency; insurance coverage; employment; contract; partnership/corporate fiduciary; probate, elder law and family law

         Mr. Woolley received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1972 and his law degree from Baylor University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1975.  During law school, Mr. Woolley served as Notes & Comments Editor, and Symposium Editor, of the Baylor Law Review and was a member of the Order of Barristers.  Other law school awards and achievements include receipt of the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Award, American Jurisprudence Awards in Evidence and Divorce, and the Phi Delta Phi Outstanding Member Award.

         Mr. Woolley is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of the State of Texas and holds licenses to practice before the following courts:  United States Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals-Fourth Circuit, 1992;  United States Court of Appeals-Fifth Circuit; United States Court of Appeals-Eleventh Circuit; United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas; United States District Court for the Western District of Texas; United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas;  United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma;  United States District Court for the Northern District of California; and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

      Mr. Woolley has represented corporations, partnerships and individuals in complex litigation involving millions of dollars in dispute and involving various business relationships and activities including real estate development, general and limited partnerships, insurance coverage, software development, oil and gas production, lending, employment, officers and directors liability, and trade secrets.  Mr. Woolley has also represented the insurance departments of several states in complex insurance insolvency litigation involving life, casualty and reinsurance companies.
